A 2014 video has just resurfaced in which the former “Walker Texas Ranger” star Chuck Norris revealed why he stopped being a Democrat and switched to the Republican Party.

Norris ‘Used To Be A Democrat’
“I used to be a Democrat, but unfortunately, the Democrats went too far to the left,” said Norris, who is now 83 years-old.
Norris went on to claim that John F. Kennedy, one of the most famous Democrat presidents of all time, would be a Republican if he were alive today.
“John F. Kennedy, today, would be a Republican, because then, the Democrats were more what the Republicans [are] today, and unfortunately, they lost their way,” he lamented.
Norris also blasted Barack Obama, who was still the president at the time of this interview.
“Everything that needed to be done, he did not [fulfill] one promise. It’s sad,” he said.
Norris has been one of the only openly conservative stars in Hollywood.
“I am a conservative, a real flag waver, a big Ronald Reagan fan,” Norris said in an interview back in 1984, according to The New York Times. “I’m not so much a Republican or Democrat; I go more for the man himself.”
“Ronald Reagan says what he thinks, he’s not afraid to speak his mind, even if he may be unpopular,” he continued. “I want a strong leader and he is a strong leader. And ever since he has been in office there has been a more positive, patriotic feeling in this country.”

Norris Slams Gavin Newsom
In 2021, Norris played an active role in the recall effort against California’s Democrat Governor Gavin Newsom that sadly ultimately failed.
“Newsom is so buried in the mire of California’s decline that he has reached his hand up out of his murky drowning waters to be saved by none other than the former President Obama, who is starring in a few of Newsom’s closing campaign ads,” Norris said at the time. “So desperate is Newsom that Joe Biden flew out on Monday to resuscitate his flailing campaign. But not even Obama and Biden can save or resurrect the groveling Gavin.”
“Bottom line: It’s clear that California Gov. Gavin Newsom is way over his head in running the Golden State,” he added.
Norris went on to say, “That’s why the people of California have called for a state recall election of its governor this week, on Sept. 14, ‘when voters will be asked first whether they want to recall Newsom and then who they want to replace him. It will take at least 50% of voters to vote in favor of recalling Newsom for the election to move forward and the winner will be whichever candidate receives the highest number of votes,’ according to Fox News.”

Norris Denies Taking Part In Capitol Riot
Also in 2021, Norris was forced to deny that he had taken part in the January 6 Capitol riots after a lookalike of him was caught on camera.
“This is not Chuck Norris and is a wannabe lookalike although Chuck is much more handsome,” his representative said at the time, according to Sky News. “Chuck remains on his ranch in Texas, where he has been with his family.”

Now in his mid-80s, Norris has stayed quiet about politics in recent years, but we have to assume that he’s still an America-loving conservative as much as he ever was. God bless you, Chuck Norris!
